Cerec Crowns Family Dentist in Gilbert AZ
CEREC® is comprised of several computer-assisted design (CAD) tools and a milling machine that creates custom ceramic restorative devices. CEREC® can make almost any ceramic restoration to order, meaning the dentist can place it immediately. This is of great benefit to nervous patients, and it can also reduce the cost of treatment.
How can CEREC® benefit me?
Cerec is the only system in the world that allows dentists to custom-craft restorations in as little as one hour. With CEREC®, we can fabricate natural-looking crowns, inlays, onlays, and veneers right here in our office while you relax in our soothing spa environment. Now, there is no longer a need to make multiple trips to the dentist’s office to be measured and fitted with temporary restorations—you can enjoy a brilliant, natural-looking, and durable solution for your missing or damaged teeth today.
First, your doctor will meet with you to discuss the details of the procedure. During the procedure, the doctor will apply a thin layer of reflective powder onto your tooth and will use a special camera to take a photo of your tooth. Using Computer Aided Design, the photo serves as a “map” to design your tooth’s restoration. Then, CEREC will use a diamond bur and disk-work to create your restoration piece out of ceramic. Finally, the ceramic restoration is bonded to your tooth using state-of-the-art adhesive dentistry.
It makes your teeth stronger and more beautiful — all while keeping your teeth looking natural. The restoration is metal-free and the high-grade ceramic material is compatible with the natural tissue found in your mouth.
If You Need A Crown, You Want It From Gilbert Dental Center
Getting a crown has long been known to be a two-visit dental experience. Many people have no idea that this is not the case at the Gilbert Dental Center. For our lucky patients, getting a crown only takes one visit!
The Traditional Two-Visit Way
At the first visit, impressions are taken of the tooth and the impression is sent to a laboratory so that your permanent crown can be made. Many people dislike the goopy impression materials that can make them gag and that takes up to five minutes in their mouth to set.
Then your tooth is shaved down so that your crown can be placed on top of it. Then you receive a temporary crown cemented over the shaved tooth to hold you over until your permanent crown arrives from the lab.
Then later, you have to go back in to the dentist, have the temporary crown removed and the new crown placed on your tooth.
The CEREC One-Visit Way We Use At Gilbert Dental Center
CEREC stands for Chairside Economical Restoration of Esthetic Ceramic. What that lengthy title means is that we can custom-craft your crown in about an hour.
If you are our patient, your experience will be quite different.
Instead of goopy impressions, our doctor will apply a thin layer of reflective powder to your tooth and will take pictures of your tooth. Your new crown is then made right here at Gilbert Dental Center from a piece of ceramic. There is no metal in your crown.
While your crown is being made, you are free to wait and enjoy our dental spa. You may choose to have other dental work done during this time.
After your ceramic crown is made, it is bonded to your tooth using state of the art adhesive dentistry. Done and done!
You don’t need multiple trips. Just one trip and you go home with your permanent crown! Now that should give you something to smile about!
